INTRODUCTION
All the grade 10 students went to the big meeting room to listen to Mr. Zhao’s talk on December 2, 2008 at 4:15.He is a famous garden designer. He traveled to many different countries and saw a lot of gardens from different places.
SUMMARY
First, Mr. Zhao talked us the history of the gardens. Second, he talked us something about how to design gardens. He said that different places have different garden designing. The most famous gardens are in Su Zhou. Every year many tourists go to Su Zhou gardens because it is known not only in China but also in the world.
The most famous gardens in Su Zhou are Zhao Yuan, Yi Yuan, Wang Shi Yuan, Ou Yuan and Zhou Zheng Yuan. In most of them use water, hills and plants wisely to make the gardens more beautiful. If you go to the Su Zhou gardens, you can enjoy the beauty of the nature. You will be attacked by many flowers and trees, they all in a good organization. In different seasons you can see different view. People always walked around the gardens. They can enjoy the fresh air, the sunshine, strange stones and lovely goldfish. You also can see many rockworks in the gardens. They are very interesting. They have different shapes and sizes. Some look like a monkey, some look like an old man, the others look like a small hill. Although they are rockworks, they all look like the true rocks. The rule of how to design rockworks is the higher rockworks are bigger and the lower rockworks are smaller. Many people think that the most important part in Su Zhou gardens is lakes. The water in the lakes is green and clean. You can see the bottom of the lakes and the goldfish swim in the lakes. They can connect one part to the others and make them look like a whole. The covered corridors also can work the same.
RESPONSE
I think each garden is a mirror of a culture and history. My favorite part of the talk is enjoying the photos of different gardens. I can see different view in different seasons in the gardens. Each of them all has their special parts. I learnt a lot of things from the talk. I think it is interesting and useful experience.
