Go to an Exbihition with Ms. hadley's class

We went to an exhibition with Ms. Hadley's class on November 4. The title of the exhibition is Wu Weishan Cultural Figures Sculpture Show. The artwork was made by an artist called Wu Weishan. It is both traditional and contemporary.


I think the most interesting artwork was "Play Jokes on you". It was made in 2006. The artist has used rectangle and many other sharp shapes. The lines are hard and strong. It can show that the Ma Sanli is thin and tall. He is a famous comedian. He has strong will and he is staunch. The color of it is brown. It was made of mud. The subject of "Play Jokes on You" is Ma Sanli. You can see the comedian Ma Shali is holding up the finger and playing jokes on you. It looks like a real man is standing in front of me.


I like the artwork. It makes me feel funny and interested because of the person's funny face and action. This made me think about a performance of a comedian Ma Shali was telling jokes on the stage. The audience was all laughing happily and had a good time. The artwork relates to comedies in the world. The artwork shows a comic dialogue. The comic dialogues and comedies are all funny performances. They all make people laugh.


This artwork can show us Ma Shali's strong and the spirit of never give up because the lines of it are very strong and hard. I learnt a lot from it. I know a successful people should have these qualities and I should work hard to be a nice person like Ma Shali. Although Ma Shali is a successful and interesting comedian, he has many moving stories. Through the artwork I can know the difficulties of him and learn good spirit from him. I think other people might appreciate the artwork because person Ma Shali is famous and almost every Chinese knows him, so it is easy for every Chinese to appreciate the artwork about him. The spirit and the fun in everyone are all the same, even in the people who from other countries, I think. They are all shown by the artwork completely. I think other people all can appreciate the good things of the artwork.


The exhibition was about sculpture art. I like this exhibition, because I think it was close to the true life. Although they were all about the famous people, they can remind me of many things in my life. For example,” Play Jokes on you" made me think of my experience in the New Year. I watched comedy that performed by Ma Shali with my parents, we laughed loudly because of the jokes that he played. I think the artist's intention is to remind people of these cultural figures and their personalities. It can make people to learn their spirits and characters from them. I thought it was interesting, because the artwork showed different people's different faces. They maybe smile, poker face, angry, quiet or laugh. They were like real people. I was very interested in 3D artwork, so I like the exhibition very much.


I felt happy that day, I took many photos and we also met Wu Weishan there. I felt excited because of this. I think this excursion is meaningful and useful; I am looking forward to going to an exhibition again.
